LOOK BEYOND PURE PRIVATE CREDIT
As credit markets evolve, a key question emerges: are investors being adequately rewarded for the risks they’re taking?
While some segments of the credit market remain resilient, others, such as parts of the private credit universe, are facing mounting headwinds. Slowing economic growth and rising impairments are increasing risk across this sector. A more dynamic and diversified approach to credit allocation—one that taps into the full depth of Australia’s $1.8 trillion credit market, including both public and private credit—may help investors better navigate market volatility and improve risk-adjusted returns.
This discussion will explore how liquid Australian investment-grade credit can balance offence and defence in today’s environment, delivering equity-like returns while actively managing downside risk. It challenges the traditional risk– return trade-off and underscores the importance of maintaining portfolio liquidity and diversification beyond private credit alone.

MID-CAPS UNLOCK GREATER POTENTIAL WITHIN YOUR AUSTRALIAN EQUITIES ALLOCATION
What drives long-term share prices? Earnings, fueled largely by revenue growth, are undoubtedly the key. But for Australian equity markets, can heavyweights like CBA, BHP, and WOW—companies often constrained by domestic GDPdriven growth due to their saturation and size—forge ahead? And should a strategic pivot towards mid-cap businesses with stronger ties to global growth, particularly in the U.S. be considered within portfolios? Can mid-caps unlock greater potential within your Australian Equities allocation?
